IRA Charitable Rollover

You may be looking for a way to make a big difference by helping support the historic Mills Community House.

Thanks to the IRA charitable rollover, you can make a tax-free direct transfer from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to an organization that is meaningful to you. The age for taking a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) has increased to 72, but you can begin using your IRA to make charitable contributions at 70½.

Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover
  • Avoid taxes on transfers of of up to $100,000 from your IRA to our organization
  • Avoid taxes on transfers from your IRA to our organization
  • Satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year
  • Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
  • Help preserve and support the historic Mills Community House
How an IRA charitable rollover gift works.
  1. Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to us.
  2. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work.
  3. Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.
  4. You may also choose to have the qualified charitable donation check made out to the Mills, but mailed to you. This allows you to enclose a personal letter or note with any conditions of the donation, like specifying how it is to be used or allocated.
  5. You may also contact us directly at 231-882-0591 or millscommhouse@gmail.com if you wish for your gift to be used for a specific purpose.

Please be assured, 100% of your gift directly supports preserving and improving the Mills Community House.
Your contribution ensures the Mills will continue to be a vibrant part of our community, while also providing a benefit to you.

Thank you for supporting the Mills Community House!

Our mission is to provide
stewardship and promotion of the
historic Mills Community House
as a venue for events and services
that enrich lives.

Land Acknowledgement
Benzie county occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of Anishinabek people. The Mills Community house recognizes the Anishinabek of the Three Fires Confederacy, the Odawa (Ottawa), Ojibwa (Chippewa), and Bode'wadmi (Potawatomi); historic Indigenous communities in Michigan; and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. Benzie County occupies land ceded in the treaty of 1855. We give thanks to the Anishinabek as the caretakers of the Earth and for their relationship to the land.
